OK, so this is almost a month late, but…
I went to see BYU play UCLA in the Las Vegas Bowl, along with my cousin Scott and my Uncle Doug. We had seats a few rows behind the UCLA band, at the goal line. (We barely used the seats, because the band stood for most of the game, which meant the people in the rows behind the band stood for most of the game, which meant we stood most of the game.)
The telephoto lens on my new camera (Olympus Evolt E510 10MP Digital SLR) did a pretty good job.
While BYU took the lead in the game, they gradually let UCLA come back, and at the very end UCLA got into range to kick a 28-yard field goal to win the game. I started chanting, "Block that kick! Block that kick!" Fortunately, one of the BYU players took my advice, barely tipping the ball so that it fell short. BYU came away with a one-point victory.
Which just goes to prove that even if God does help BYU win a game, He doesn’t help them beat the point spread.
One disadvantage of the new camera: if it focuses on me, the scoreboard is too blurry to make out the final score, 17-16.
