Warning: the subject matter of this entry is going to be offensive to some people. I’m not kidding. If you are offended, don’t complain about it, because you were warned.

“What do you think about the decision to redefine marriage to include homosexuals?”
“I think it’s a bad idea, because I don’t think people should be allowed to marry barnyard animals.”
“What on earth are you talking about? It doesn’t legalize marriage with barnyard animals!”
“Yes it does. By definition, homosexuals are people who have sex with others of the same sex or with barnyard animals.”
“That’s absurd. The word ‘homosexual’ only means that they have sex with other people of the same sex.”
“Well, maybe it used to mean that, but I’ve redefined it to include having sex with barnyard animals.”
“Homosexual means what it means. You can’t redefine a word to include something that it didn’t include before.”
“Sure I can. Just ask the Massachusetts Supreme Court.”

Now, to the supporters of same-sex marriage whom I have offended, I ask this question:
Why are you offended?
Why should you be upset that a sexual practice you do not care for is included in the definition of something you care about?
Isn’t that exactly what you are doing by demanding that the definition of marriage be changed to include homosexual couples?
